The DESS ( Diploma in Higher Specialised Studies) a masters level degree in Fashion and Design, without limiting its field to clothing fashion, aims to provide the participant with the means to comprehend, evaluate and manage diverse aspects of fashion and design. Parallel to the DESS, the department of Fashion and design also proposes :
The University of Fashion is also a research centre. The teaching staff regularly participate in symposiums and seminars, have had their work published and keep in contact with foreign researchers and universities. The department of Fashion also promotes the industry of fashion and design that have long been a part of Lyon and the Rhone-Alpes region. It is with this in mind, and with the participation of the Association of the University of Fashion, that programmes of public conferences, study days and symposiums (such as 'Interviews on Fashion') have been organised.
